Argon Gas Detector Singapore
Argon (Ar) is a colourless and odourless gas present to a very small extent in the atmosphere. It is non-toxic and non-flammable. Argo is an inert gas and it is not harmful in itself. It is heavier than air and less reactive than Nitrogen. Argon is used in electric light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, phototubes and glow tubes. The very thin metal filament inside the bulb would react with oxygen and burn away if the bulb were filled with air instead of argon. Argon stops the filament burning away because it is unreactive. It is particularly useful as a motionless gas shield for arc welding and cutting.
The primary health hazard is asphyxiation by displacement of oxygen. As a result, it will cause suffocation with symptoms of a headache, rapid breathing, dizziness, confusion, tremors, loss of coordination and judgment, and lightheadedness. Higher levels can cause nausea, vomiting, unconsciousness, coma and death. No occupational exposure limits have been established for Argon.
Function of Argon Gas Detector
Argon gas detector alerts you when there is a change in the level of Argon. When Argon has exceeded the safe mark set in your detector it will trigger an alarm. At this point, the occupants need to pack and leave the site. It is important that your detector is able to detect the toxic gas accurately, respond fast and reliable. To achieve these capabilities regular calibration by technicians is required.
